Filling up the pages of this blog is something I resolve doing whenever the work load starts to pile up Why? Aside from the fact that it lets me procrastinate for just a little bit, it also helps me get in work mode by squeezing out words from my brain helping me get off writer’s block.

It only takes a few simple things to make my cheeks flush and grin from ear to ear. And while single blessedness is a perk I get to enjoy every Valentine’s day since birth, nothing puts a great big smile on my face like the most obvious thing on this video.

When the French get up and go-go

More often than not, people tend to stereotype magazine editors as ice queens who clack their way to the office in their designer heels only pausing to stop and dump their fur coat and designer purse on top of poor Emily’s desk. That, obviously, is a total lie (or should I say fantasy?) and is only seen in movies.

It is however refreshing to see these people who some of us often view as intimidating shamelessly let their hair down all for the love of fun. Sorry, not everyone can put on a show like Anna dello Russo and get away with it. But some do try like the Vogue Paris team. EIC Emmanuelle Alt lives out her dream of becoming a rock star with the help of Mademoiselle Agnès and models Anja Rubik, Jasmine Tookes, Kendra Spears, and Karmen Pedaru in this rendition of Wham!’s Wake Me Up. I wonder what Mama Anna and Carine have to say.

Oh, the places I’ll go

It’s been quite a while since my last update and no my dear friends, not because I procrastinate. Busy as a bee while sipping on milk tea, I sit and type here now truly filled with glee. For I have found something worthy to share to you our dear readers I here now declare.

STATUS’ February issue holds a dear place in my heart for the simple reason that it marks my anniversary with the magazine. A year ago, I hopped on board this rocking boat fickle minded and acting on impulse. Fast forward fourteen months later and here I am still with my future yet to be written but somehow have found assurance and security my current status at STATUS.

And if you’re wondering what caused the rhyme up above, no, it’s not a song but a man whose wit I truly love. Yes, I confess. I am a Dr. Seuss fan just like these folks from the Burning Man.

Blogging my depression away

Death Cab is coming to Manila!! This is probably the only time that I've freaked and wanted to watch a concert this badly. Death Cab for Cutie is just one of those bands whom you've loved for so long and will continue to love through the years. I can still remember Seth (Cohen - the OC) hanging out in the Bait Shop where bands like The Walkmen, The Killers, Modest Mouse, and of course, Death Cab for Cutie played live. I was so excited for it until I found out that it's on March 5 and it just so happens that my family and I have a scheduled trip and won't be back till the 6th. Just my freaking luck. So here I am, sort of promoting this concert (that I can't watch) so that you people can go and have the time of your lives. Great. Just great.

TV shows, prophesies, thesis papers, and a new year

Procrastination aka cramming is perhaps on every student's new year's resolution list. Unfortunately, that's one thing I'll cross out on mine since I'm starting the new year with an upcoming deadline on a chapter of my thesis. What can I say, old habits die hard. But after watching all the back episodes of 2 Broke Girls, the 2 Sex and the City movies, and made every excuse in my head that is humanly possible to keep me from doing my thesis, I have no choice but to face it now. Oh the things I would do for a clean slate on a new year. Anyway, since I did mention new year's resolutions, Zoe and I played a little game a few days ago. Now the rule is he'd give resolutions for me, while I give his. But because some of those resolutions are quite private, I don't think I am at liberty to discuss them here. But as for a general one, I think a new year dictates a whole new game with twists and turns and a lot of stumbling. So this year, I intend to live life to its fullest - as cheesy and worn out as that statement is, or to simply put it, carpe diem. After all, we can never be sure if the Mayans were telling the truth. And so to end this post let me give you our first song for the year; telling us that we can't can't count on a second chance.

Adios 2011!!

With less than eight hours till the New Year, I muse over the past year as I sit and wait for my nails to dry in preparation for tonight’s festivities.

2011 has been quite the rollercoaster for Chiqui and I. We’ve witnessed everything from pestering school deadlines, career beginnings, pregnancies and births, band breakups, drunken nights, thrift store escapades, and so much more. And by these series of both fortunate and unfortunate events, we couldn’t be more grateful for everything that has come our way. So as we face the end of the year and the start of another one, I leave you with a year ender song form one of my favorite artists in 2011. Cheers and Happy New Year!

All we want for Christmas is...

Requirements were passed, tests were taken, and classes are done, we are officially on our Christmas break! Along with that, it is this time of year where we make our lists; not of things to do or necessities to buy, but it is the list of things which we hope some generous benefactors would take the liberty to purchase in the spirit of Christmas. So whether you've been naughty or nice, it is after all, the season of giving. Hence, here is our annual wish list for all to see, and of course, know what to possibly give us. But just so you know, we've been nothing but nice - ish.

Chiqui's Christmas Wish List:

1. Acne - pistol leather ankle boots
For the past 2 Christmases I find myself wanting ankle boots; the only difference there is between them is the type. The first one was the flat kind with studs, the next was flat lace ups (aka combat boots) and finally this year's version leaves me with the ankle boots with a low heel. Since Acne isn't quite available here, this type of ankle boots is also available in Dolce Vita (free shipping from SoleStruck!!) , Topshop, Zara, and if you're feeling frugal (which I hope you're not), asianvogue.

2. Giuseppe Zanotti - ruffle front suede ankle boots
Well this is just plain want. It's pretty and it's Zanotti, what else is there to say? ;)

I’ve been eyeing this collection since I saw it in Philippine Fashion Week and was even privileged enough to meet the designer himself. One piece that I particularly remember that has been haunting me since is a sleeveless button down with linen panels (as seen in the 3^rd photo).

3. Vinyl Records

A couple of months ago I was fortunate enough to hit two birds with one stone when I interviewed Tarsius’ Diego Mapa and Jay Gapasin for STATUS Magazine. Why? My luck was just right that day because the interview and shoot happened to be in Cubao Expo, a place that Chiqui and I have been longing to venture to. We got together at this curious vinyl record shop and I couldn’t help but check the shelves out. Not only did the vintage records have interesting album art but they also has that good scent like those of old books.

4. Proenza Schouler PS1 large leather bag in Neon Coral

This has been on my Wish and Lust list for way too long.

But despite the temporary joy that these material things bring, all I really want this Christmas is..

5. Somebody to turn my blue Christmas into a technicolored frenzy.

HP turns 20!

Chiqui & Zoe: While wishing on 11:11 of 11/11/11 might seem like a worthwhile plan to catch a bit of sparkle, we put our time to greater use by showing some love to our favorite magical boy. Clayton Grageda - formerly known as Harry Potter's doppelganger (he says he doesn't look like him anymore) and Oneiros' awesome drummer, celebrates another year of magical bliss as he turns the big two-zero tomorrow. Happy birthday Clayton!

Chiqui: While I was randomly browsing along Youtube, I found this music video of a boy band named "One Direction" whose outfits remind me those of Clayton's.

Another long weekend of never ending slumbers is almost up and we’re thrown right back into reality with the hustle and bustle of another busy week. So how did you make the most of the 3 days off? As I spent mine circling malls up north and down south, I couldn’t help but notice the Christmas decorations slowly being put up. And while this weekend may be ending, it won’t be long before we’re spending the merry holiday break swimming in Christmas money and packing on the pounds. It’s often that I compile songs into a playlist to accompany my in whatever it is that I do whether work or school. This time around, instead of getting songs from various artists, I rely only on a single album to keep me company as I sit in solitude trying to get things done. Foster The People was a mainstay on the runways of Philippine Fashion Week causing a bit of last song syndrome. As I resume to working on the many things that I need to get done before the long weekend is over, I leave you with their full album in hopes that it too helps you get things done (if you have any.) A few more days till my sembreak ends and another obstacle course filled with cheap thrills, hair wrenching tasks, and an endless bitching parade begins. While Zoe has been living the front row dream during PFW, I sat still looking at pretty pictures of anything and everything there is to look at. I feel as though I've been spending all this time in the waiting lounge waiting for my flight. Who knows when that will be. As I sit here on the couch waiting for files to download, I can’t help but make lists in my mind of what’s to be done in the days to come. And in my desperation for an update, I have decided to just itemise my to-do list here in this blog.

We’re finally down to the last week of October but before I head out for some candy begging dressed in something that is yet to be determined, I first must endure mid-terms and fashion week simultaneously happening. Yes, it’s that time of year again where all the crazy shit comes out. Oh joy. But don’t get me wrong, I truly am excited for fashion week (and obviously less excited for midterms.) I’m sure that this season will bring about more crazy adventures and misadventures to the STATUS team so be sure to check out our blogs.

Speaking of STATUS, let me do some shameless plugging by telling you all to go grab a copy of the October Issue. This issue truly means a lot to me, not only because I’m featured on the contributors page and because I wrote an article on DJ Ross One (who is shown on the video below along with Logan iwannahaveyourbabies Lerman), but also because this is my last issue as an intern. But with every end springs forth a new beginning. And after eight months of being an intern, I finally got absorbed as an editorial assistant. Yes, you got that right. I am officially employed.

Keep on feeling

Being on a 3 week break while everyone else is attending their classes is quite fun. But unfortunately, boredom is slowly engulfing me as I sit at home sifting through the many pages of the internet. I've probably visited dozens of blogs, watched all those episodes I missed, and had my daily afternoon dose of sleep. Oh the joy of sembreaks (and I say this again, but now with a bit of sarcasm). So while I was exploring the realm of Youtube, I stumbled upon a video about the Chanel ambassadors (Leigh Lezark, Jen Brill, Poppy Delevingne, Vanessa Traina, and Caroline Sieber). Now being an ambassador of a mass retail brand is one thing, but being an ambassador of Chanel is definitely another. Free at last!

After 3 weeks of sleepless nights and endless to-do lists, I'm finally free! I've regained all those missed sleeping hours and I've checked all those boxes of to-do's. I am officially on sembreak!
I feel bad for Zoe, it seems like I neglected my blogging duties and left him alone here and to sometimes even do a post for me (although that happened just once!). Anyway, now that my school bubble has been popped, I can't wait to lie in bed for hours more than I can count, spend time at home for more than I do outside, and to actually be a bum! Oh the sheer goodness of sembreaks (and did I mention it's for 3 weeks?) hihihi So to get to the main point of this post, I know it's a wee bit late but can I just share how much of a big fan I am of Alexa Chung's? She launched her 2nd collection for Madewell last month. I'm personally digging the looks (but I'm pretty biased since I love everything that's Alexa Chung), but just go see for yourself and watch Madewell's campaign video below.

OctoBEER Fest

Dieting is something I would like to constantly remind my self of. Sadly, it only remains a plan failed to be executed due to my laziness. And while the thought of magically losing my beer-belly gives me much hope of one day repossessing the flat tummy i once had, I doubt that this month would be the time for that to happen. October is of great value to me due to the simple fact that I celebrate my birthday in this month. Of course, having an alcohol free celebration is out of the question. Alas, I postpone, yet again, my plans of “dieting” to infinity.

The rain is upon us once more brining this rare occasion of an update. Forgive us for the lack of posts but we seem to be caught up in never ending school work. Chiqui for one is swamped with her academics and extra curricular leaving me to do this post for her. Don’t get me wrong. I too am swamped with school work and actual work but none the less, I make it a point to give my self a break when I’m at the verge of losing my sanity caused by the most demanding of projects.

Chiqui and I, as some of you may know, are pretty much shallow when it comes to happiness. We genuinely find amusement in the littlest things. Take this video from Lanvin’s Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 ad campaign. It may be a bit too last month but seeing Raquel Zimmerman and Karen Elson dancing to Pitbull still gives us that bit of amusement.

And just because we can't leave you without sharing a song. Here's something from the early 2000's that I'm pretty sure some of you missed hearing.

The Last Dream

If you've been reading our blog for quite some time, then you would surely be familiar with Oneiros and you would certainly notice that they would constantly be featured in our posts. I guess you could say, Zoe and I have been some of their most avid fans; we play different roles - from roadies to photographers to manning the ticket booth at Gummybeer gigs. We even know the lyrics to their songs better than their own drummer! For those of you who don't know, Oneiros is a band that started several years back. With Clayton on drums, Joro on bass, Dan and Jovanne on guitars, and Bianca on Vocals. We've watched this band pave their way in Zobel and broaden their band horizons in college. We've watched them grow from gig to gig and go through their musical phases; from the heavy alternative (remember "the Gray Resistance"?) to their pop punk and powerpop sound. Not to forget, we've watched them cover different artists, from Paramore to VersaEmerge, to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. But unfortunately, like all good things, Oneiros has come to an end. That's why this Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 121 Bar in Makati, Oneiros will be playing for the last time.

Along with other bands, this would definitely be a fun and memorable night you wouldn't want to miss. So cancel whatever Saturday night plans you have and head on to 121 Bar at 8! See you there!

Working Wonders

My term break is almost over and I’m happy to say that it has been a well spent one. While I enjoy basking in the sweet glory of lazy days doing absolutely nothing, I am much better off doing something more productive like say devoting time to my beloved internship. Of course the hard work isn’t left unrewarded. The star I get at the end of the day comes in the form of two half page articles in this month’s issue.

I got the privilege of interviewing musician Katie Herzig for one of these articles. (I feel like such a writer hahaha) Can you believe it? I actually survived my first phoner via Skype! And I did it at 8am from one of the empty classrooms at school before heading to the office.

As for the big news I have yet to unveil, I think I’ll wait a little bit more and let the anticipation build up. Let me leave you with this cover of Foster The People's Pumped Up Kicks from The Kooks.

The first trimester of the school year is over and now I get to enjoy my much awaited and well deserved term break. After weeks of slaving over school work we kicked things off yesterday at Fiamma for the STATUS Style Issue release party. The end of the term wasn’t the only thing worth celebrating last night. I have BIG news to reveal in the coming days so watch out for that. The long weekend has come to an end and my hours spent watching reruns of Gossip Girl while continuously consuming thousands of calories in the form of chips and brownies, and reading Anna Karenina in between, are long gone. I do hope your weekend was well spent - unlike mine. Turning the days like pages

Pardon my lack of blog posts, school's keeping me pretty busy and I always run out of time to do a post. Well it's either that or I'm just plain lazy. Okay so I know this topic's waaay old by this time but I still can't get over the fact that Kate Moss and Jamie Hince got married! Although I was a huge Kate + Pete (Doherty) fan, I do admit that Jamie looks quite the dashing groom in their wedding photos. Just see for yourself.

Zoe and I both love this photo. That red Rodarte cape is amazing!! I simply had to make this photo big.

The mother daughter Calvin Klein-esque portrait of Lila Grace and Kate is just beautiful. It makes me, a 20 year old, wish to be this 9 year old kid. Imagine having Kate Moss as your mom and you'd have instant access to all those clothes and shoes and bags and jewelry, not to mention those genes? Oh what a dream. Anyway I have to get back to ~~work~~ (sleep), I'll leave you with my mid-week song - yes, I know it's Thursday but since I have school till Saturday and even sometimes Sunday, it's only the half for me. Just a couple more weeks till the end of this term and I am swamped with school work that’s waiting to be done and passed. In times like these when one feels the lazy bug biting every bit of their body with the sweet temptation of procrastination do we find inspiration to get our fat asses of the couch and start working. Look Ma! I Wrote an Article!

I mentioned in my earlier post about a little extra something that I did for this month’s issue of STATUS. Normally as an intern I am given the task to write for the fashion news portion of the magazine but for this issue, I get to write my very first Maestro, a half pager on Here We Go Magic’s frontman Luke Temple. Check out my baby!

As a kid it has always been a subconscious dream of mine to become a writer/journalist. (Obviously this was overshadowed by my bigger dream of becoming a couturier.) But in a way I kept my self attached to that dream somehow by working for a magazine and by blogging. Hopefully I’ll be given more opportunities to write articles like this one in the coming issues. From Cover to Cover

Probably one of the things that I anticipate the most every month is getting to see the new magazine covers, and of course that includes my dearest STATUS. So last Saturday while Chiqui was out and about with the Oneiros crew, I was off at 7^th High for the release party of our August Issue. Sadly my efforts to catch them at Capones fell short because by the time I got to A-Venue, they were already headed for Casa Nami. But enough with the explanations regarding our whereabouts and go grab a copy of the August issue now and flip through the pages. I have a little something in there but I shall elaborate on it further on a separate post.

Our weekend whereabouts

Last Saturday, I tagged along with Oneiros on their 2 gigs - the first one at Capones in A-Venue for DLS-CSB's event entitled "Eden of Virtuoso" a benefit gig for EPCAT (End Child Prostitution and Pornography and Trafficking for Sexual Purposes) and the second one at Casa Nami.

Joro was, allegedly, out partying; thus the change in the band members. So Oneiros had 2 guest performers, Ling from Lady Ransom and another batch mate from Zobel, Marco Nigro playing on synth. Speaking of people out partying, Zoe, the biggest ditcher of them all, was out partying god knows where (actually I do know where he was, but for exaggeration purposes let's just say that). Anyway, so here is a little recap of the gig/s - I didn't bother posting photos from Capones cause they weren't post-worthy.

I woke up to an eye-popping text message saying that Amy Winehouse had died. My sleepy state quickly left my system and I jolted to check if this was true. Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London flat, Saturday at 3:54 pm (I'm a bit confused with the time difference so do not rely on me for the exact date). According to some news reports the cause of death was no other than drug overdose.

My love for Ms. Winehouse will forever be the same. The beehive hair, the winged eyes, the countless number of tattoos, and the ever so present pink ballet flats (she keeps wearing them) shall never be forgotten.

Ma ma ma my Sharona!

Being at home early on a Saturday definitely has its perks. A. you get to catch up on some missed hours of sleep. B. you get to catch up on some missed hours of sleep. and C. you get to watch TV! I was fortunate enough to see the remaining 20 (or so) minutes of Reality Bites on HBO and god can I just say that I love this movie and I mean that with all sincerity even though I was like around 3 years old when this movie first came out. That whole awkward, disheveled, grungy-esque aura of Lelaina Pierce (Winona Ryder) and the dirty looking, slacker musician Troy Dyer (Ethan Hawke) certainly did not make it hard for me to squeal like a jeje watching a John Lloyd and Sarah Geronimo movie (no offense). So I thought I'd share with you my favorite scene paired with one of the most heart throbbing (well, at least for me) songs of all freaking time.

Note: Don't mind the Spanish. I couldn't find an English version but you'd sort of have an idea what's going on anyway but if you don't, then I guess you'd just have to see the movie. :)

What seemed to be the perfect intro to a horror flick turned out to be quite an adventure for the Lady Ransom crew. Last Saturday I tagged along with them as we braved the storm and headed further up North for a gig in Valenzuela. (It actually isn’t as far as we thought it was.) Pretty interesting place to have a gig if you ask me. But these boys never fail to amaze their audience, whoever their audience may be. I can vouch for those screaming girls at the top of the bleachers. So for those who missed out, here’s a little taste of Lady Ransom in Valenzuela. Check out Jaime’s moves!

I've got a mad little crush on you

Out of all my friends, Chiqui would probably be the one who’s stood through all my i-need-a-boyfriend-ponto moments with much patience. She constantly keeps my hopes up by telling me that in time (and maybe in another country) I will find Mr. Right. I found this song while working on something for work and instantly it reminded me of those episodes of mine. It’s a nice stress buster song with all that’s coming my way this week and next. Whoever said we could breathe after midterms was seriously kidding. They just flood you with more workload!

I'm definitely looking forward to watching part two of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows this Friday. It's sad that it’s finally ending. There goes our childhood. Those days crushing on Tom Felton despite his evilness and gushing over Daniel Radcliffe's bathtub scene in the fourth movie. And just like Rupert Grint, I'm pretty much speechless as to how I feel about the coming of the last movie. At least we still have the books (and dvds if you’re too lazy to read) to go back to every once in a while.

We are very busy people

It's barely even a month since school has started and yet I find myself swamped and stressed with all the work load. I now seriously appreciate those long summer days I spent lying in bed from the break of dawn till dusk doing nothing but watching tv and spending all those hours in the never ending world of the internet.With a six days a week schedule, hours and hours worth of after class meetings, and deadlines here and there, its not hard to feel rather drained and uninspired. But for me, there's always these sources of inspiration that keep me going and right now, it's LVMH's corporate video. Oh and don't bitch on me for wanting to join the luxury devil's (Arnault) bandwagon. Although I completely don't mind joining the Gucci Group (the real one. hahaha).

I've always had a thing for Coca-Cola commercials. Maybe it’s because they always have an interesting storyboard to them. So when Chiqui asked me what my favourite TVC was I quickly replied with the one of Coca-Cola’s commercials. I remember this one specific TVC that was aired this summer which got this song stuck in my head. You’re never too young to start writing songs. In Tony’s case, he started when he was just high school freshman. Not to mention musical skills seem to run in his family. (He’s Oneiros’ guitarist Dan’s younger brother and they have the same name) We met a few years back during our theatre days in Zobel and we’ve been friends since then. The after school Detention

Last Saturday, June 18, 2011, Gummybeer Productions held its fourth event entitled "Detention" at 121 Bar in Pasong Tamo, Makati. As usual, Zoe and I were there to support Gummybeer and the rest of the bands from different universities. The band lineup was comprised of Sheep Sarah Sleep, Lady Ransom, Dance Play Create, Never the Strangers, Oneiros, Corporate Skyscrapers, and Curbside.

School is out and so is work as we usher in the weekend with another cold rainy day. Hopefully most of you are home safe and sound enjoying the weather from the comfort of your beds. I’m lucky to be home after getting stranded in Osmena with Clayton, Stef M., and Gia last night.

As far as setting the mood goes, here’s the latest addition to my “Cold Rainy Days” playlist. Everyone’s been talking about Adele’s new single Someone Like You. The song pretty much goes against Rolling in the Deep with its heartbreaking lyrics.

Back to school Detention

As we all head back to our classrooms and sit on our boring desks burrying our faces with thick-ass textbooks and a tree's worth of handouts, we might as well have a bit (or a lot) of fun to go along with it. Gummybeer Productions presents us with Detention at 121.

Detention is Gummybeer's fourth event and much like the previous ones, you're sure to get one hell of a great night. Several bands will be playing including Oneiros, Lady Ransom, and Corporate Skyscrapers. Plus, nothing relives a bit of athletics like a beer pong tournament! Better practice your shooting skills though, unless you want to start the school year with a beer belly. :)

Riding in cars with boys

Last time we heard from Lady Ransom they were still a collision of four in search of a vocalist. Well after a few months, they’ve managed to turn themselves into a five-some with their newest addition. Brian Dacanay made his debut as the band’s new vocalist at a party up north last Friday and Bianca, Jovanne, Camille, and I were there to watch and show them some love. We also got to see a little extra something from Ling. Check out the video:

The What: Philippine Fashion Week LadyZaZa Edition

If you’ve read our “The What” blogs on STATUSMAGONLINE then most likely you know how crazy that week was for us. So here’s my spin on The What taking you through day 1 to 7 of Philippine Fashion Week.

What I saw: I’m no stranger to Fashion Week having interned for Runway Productions last season and attending the previous ones. So what makes Holiday 2011 different? Well working for STATUS for one is. This season I took my place on the front row instead of backstage.

As the STATUS team said, Fashion Week is the best place to make friends. True enough, I got to meet a lot of interesting people. Of course familiar faces were there too. It was great seeing my old fellow interns at Runway who now have their own set of interns to boss around. Maybe someday I'll have my own set of interns too.

We couldn't have survived Fashion Week without our amazing photographers Lyka Orhel, Nikki Ruiz, and Bruce Cassanova (who isn't in this photo).

What I heard: This would have to be the perfect song to sum up Fashion Week. I remember when the TV team was editing the AVP for last season and we previewed it at the Runway office for the first time. This song has been stuck in my head ever since. Hearing it this season reminds me of the fun memories I had at Runway.

What I wore: Of course, I can’t have a Fashion Week post without having an outfit recap. Here’s what I wore from day 1 to day 7. The weather was crazy going from cold and rainy to hot and well, hot, making me change from knitted sweaters to tanks and blazers. The STATUS team decided to “dress down” for the last day. Click here to see what the others wore.

WTF Moment: I can just go on and on with this one. Here are my top 7 moments from each day:
Day 1: JAKE CUENCA takes his shirt off for the Bench show. My knickers literally dropped.
Day 2: Missing the JUSTIN BIEBER concert! The team sprayed purple streaks in my hair so that I’d still feel the Bieber Fever even at Fashion Week.
Day 3: The internet was not cooperating with us so I had to do my blog for that day the old school way, PEN AND PAPER. Got that right, I had to write my blog essay style. We left our chargers and only had one laptop to work with which was being used to transfer photos.
Day 4: Some random guy takes one of our seats and carries it all the way to the other side of the runway leaving a gap in the front row. Good thing we’re all skinny and we love to sitting close to each other.
Day 5: The longest day of Fashion Week. My day started at the office then I had to go to Greenbelt then MOA to do pull outs. After that it was SMX to watch the shows then end the day with a bang at KYSS for the Oxygen after party. Nothing like a party with the STATUS and STYLES teams then throw in music from The MISSHAPES for extra chaos.
Day 6: Hustling and bustling to get that interview with Ford Supermodel of the World Philippines 2011 winner SAM GOMEZ was no joke. Check out the interview here.
Day 7: The last day! Everything about this day was just crazy. From getting one of our editorial assistants tipsy with a few glasses of wine to skipping our way down the meeting room hall to get some more bubbly from the L’Oreal booth. One word to describe this day: SABAW.

And that’s how it went. Seeing awesome clothes and meeting awesome people with all the adventures and misadventures in between. Best Fashion Week to date! I can’t wait for next season already.

A couple of weeks ago, our Senior F class had a little reunion party. After 2(ish) years of college we finally went back to high school.

At the surface, it seems as though nothing had changed; yet in reality, everything did. But we were still those noisy - well for me not really, senior kids in Zobel that called themselves with their individual Foxy nicknames. For one night, it really was high school all over again.

Our smallest adventures

For the past few weeks, Ive been doing my internship at an advertising agency, Young & Rubicam. Here, I had my first glimpse of the whole advertising scene and all that goes around and within it. But like all good things, my little employed status had its end last Friday. So here's a look at Y&R's office and a sort of day-in-the-life of an intern.

The Bridal Project

Every girl dreams of a fairy tale wedding, big white dress and all. Of course the perfect dress is nothing without the perfect pair of shoes. My aunt celebrated her wedding last April 14 and gave me the honor of designing her bridal shoes. I didn’t make the shoes from scratch (I’d die if I had to). While the majority is off enjoying the summer heat, some of us (like my self) are still slaving away with the last leg of the school year. I for one can’t wait for this term to end but before all that I still have a few requirements to pass. And what better way to enjoy the fruits of your labor than to see the final output of your hard work?

So here it is, my basic video production class midterms project: a music video featuring none other than Oneiros.

Now that it's officially summer (meaning you can now feel the hot hot heat) and it's holy week (for those of us who are stuck at home, and not sashaying in those white sandy beaches) this means nothing but sheer boredom. My daily routine can start by waking up at 11, eating at 12, and having my afternoon nap at 1. But if I don't spend my time sleeping, I find myself gazing at numerous blogs which now all currently show people at Coachella. For those of you, who have been possibly hiding under rocks, Coachella is a 3 day music fest in Indio, California where tons of artists from different genres come out to play for a very huge half-dressed crowd. Last March 25 (yes we know, this post is wayy overdue), Chiqui visited my lovely school to come and support Oneiros who was playing as a guest band along with Lady Ransom in BandAge100, a battle of the bands competition organized by the SDA Student Council.

This collision of four is composed of Tags Villanueva (drums), Jaime Marfori (bass), Ling Lava and Jake Soriano (guitars). If you're wondering who the vocalist is then keep guessing. The spot is currently vaccant and the band is open to suggestions. So for those who are interested, hit them up via Myspace or Facebook. Who knows, you might just be what they're looking for.

The last band to perform was Oneiros. Having the same alma mater as these guys, Zoe and I have been serving as their loyal roadies for quite some time now. So please do check them out on Myspace or like them on Facebook!

Chiqui's Life Plan

Since it's already my summer break and I am already desperately bored, I decided to make my own version of the "life plan". So I spent my afternoon on planning and preparing this post and here's what came out: - During my college years (now, obviously) I plan on interning at advertising agencies and certain publications.- After college, I will do my very best to avoid joining the work force and proceed to getting a masters degree preferably in Boston University (shut up I know this is totally ambisyosa of me). - After which I intend on pursuing a career in the field of advertising. Which will then magically (or miraculously) lead me to moving to my wonderland, New York. - Here, I will, again, work in a fancy-shmancy ad agency that will pay me a very unrealistic amount of salary for me to pay my very unrealistic fancy-shmancy SoHo loft. - And then if I eventually get tired of those late rushing nights, I will then move to being the Editor in Chief of Vogue (again, miraculously).
Of course, I won't forget my fashion buddy Zoe. So here are a few proposals of my future with Zoe..

Speaking of releases, Emmanuelle Alt’s much awaited debut issue as editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris is finally out! Gisele Bundchen graces the cover in a white lace Dolce and Gabbana number leaving absolutely no trace of childbirth and whatsoever. Alt’s first cover is more sensual and feminine and less provocative unlike the previous covers, definitely a far cry from Roitfeld’s sexy-booby-edgy style. I guess Vogue Paris’ prono-chic days are finally over.

Blake Lively's new ad campaign for Chanel just came out! Yes, they look good and yes, she looks beautiful but my gut tells me that this is all wrong. I think Blake would have been better off at a more, excuse me for the term, risqué brand like say, Cavalli or Dolce? You know, a brand with an image and clothes that suit her whole I'm-a-blonde-bombshell persona. She just doesn't seem like a Chanel girl? Last Saturday, I was feeling the summer vibe despite the dark skies and damp weather so I decided to dress a little different and please, do take note that I am finally wearing something of actual color! hahaha

Everything (jacket, romper, accessories - bangle & necklace) is from Forever21. You know, I, as well as Zoe are open for sponsorships, ambassador-ships *cough cough!*, and the like. hahahaha

And then the following day, Zoe and I met up at BF. He decided to tag along with me and my group mates as we do something for our finals. Our outfits are totally unplanned but fate certainly has its humor and made us both show up in the same type of pants and gold accessories.

That day, we met the cutest newborn - Angel Johann. :)

How fast the time flies. Just two years ago we were enjoying what was our last prom in Zobel and now we find ourselves back at the exact same place gatecrashing.

After Chiqui’s 20^th birthday celebration in Izakaya we decided to check out the Zobel Junior-Senior Prom at the Makati Shangri-La and play style police. Here are our top three picks from the ones we saw..

This dress reminds us of one from Marchesa's Resort 2010 collection.

Her choice of color gives the look a more youthful spin. Props to her!

Zian Serranilla

This number reminds us of the Zuhair Murad Serena Van der Woodsen wore in episode 8 of Gossip Girl season 4. No doubt that she won the most coveted award for the night; Prom Queen.

And of course, my personal favorite (with biased opinion) would have to be this one.

The heir to the "Queen Bee" throne was looking trés Ferosha Coutura in his one of a kind suit and 6 inch heels. He also won the "head turner of the night" award. Kudos!!

In my previous posts, I mentioned about the cancellation of civilian wednesdays and saturdays. Well last night, I received a text saying that its back! I just felt so happy and alive again (seriously!) I dread the days of wearing uniform and these 2 days of freedom from conformity is just the pulse to my otherwise dead college life. Yes I know I am that pathetic to value something that's normal to other college kids. But who cares. Anyway, this morning Zoe asked me to meet up with him in Greenbelt and voila! a what we wore post!

Two of my favorite dressers are Dree Hemingway and Kate Bosworth. Here they share quite the similarity - from the grey on grey, to the draped skirts, to the brownish taupe shade of shoes. P.S. Zoe if you're reading this, I'm still waiting on you to make me that skirt! Meanwhile, I recently had this new obsession and one that I just had to get out of my system by my usual impulse buying. Dirt in our closet

Once upon a time Chiqui and I didn’t have the luxury of wearing whatever we want on a daily basis. Our closets were once limited to private catholic school uniforms. So every time we got the chance to wear something else we’d grab it and take it to extremes.

Let me take you through a journey exploring the archives of our beloved closets and see how the Band Aid Diaries came to be.

You cant do much with it because you're bound by school rules. We usually accessorized with bags, watches and hoodies. At least you didn't have to worry with what to wear the next day! haha

Shoe Cravings: Platforms & Wedges

Lately Ive been obsessing over a few(ish) pairs of shoes and most of them are ironically heels - since I am forever in flats I think its about time to change and move on to greater heights. :) So here are some of the shoes Ive been staring at for the past- who knows how long.
1. Jeffrey Campbell lita lace up platform boots

The blogger in me is yearning for these babies! hahaha But seriously though, its like the lace up combat boots and clogs combined.
2. Finsk oak wedges

3. Giuseppe Zanotti platform wedges

Now these I like a lot. They're simple yet chic with an edge dont ya think soooo?
4. Acne atacoma wedges

Meanwhile, these Acne atacoma boots are just here to feed the fad-crazy side of me. Clayton strongly suggests they're weird and somehow resembles an ice skating boot. :l
5. Topshop leopard print wedges
Yes, I am perfectly aware that this is getting pretty old and practically everyone has them but I can't help it! Leopard is the only animal print that has the clear tendency to be chic; the rest just verge on being trashy or tacky.
6. Black wedge boots from chickflick
Now these are plain, simple, and cheap! I think it's only about 1,600? Not bad for an everyday kind of shoe.
7. Sam Edelman zoe boots
What's new? These have been on every list I made since Mademoiselle New Yorker and still I just can't stop obsessing over them. Although a lot has tried to make a replica (i.e. soule) it's just not the same as the real deal Sam Edelman or the real real deal Balenciaga.

Yup, you guessed it. Forever 21 will soon open in SM Makati! I think the date set is on April 8 ,2011 so they moved the Teens wear to the 3rd floor to give way for the Forever21 store and just like the flagship in Megamall, this one's pretty big - just the wall cover gives me the jitters. Finally, I won't miss out on new styles (especially for shoes since people somehow wash them away in a matter of seconds) and no more risky travels on the MRT!! The only good thing in studying in AC is that I get to be in Glorietta 6 days a week so when this opens, you know where to find me. ;)

The thing I like most about personal blogs is that you can post whatever you want without having to wait for the approval of others. So here I am freely expressing thoughts without any hesitations.

This curious photo of Adam Levine circulating the Internet has been creating quite the buzz for the past few weeks now. Clearly we can see why. The photo for Cosmopolitan UK is supposed to help spread awareness on Prostate and Testicular Cancer and have guys check for symptoms to help prevent the disease.
